Planning a small engagement in Dubai — any tips on locations?
Hi everyone! My partner and I are heading to Dubai next month, and I’m actually planning to pop the question while we’re there. I’m looking for some advice on spots that aren't too "touristy" but still have that amazing skyline or desert vibe.
Also, I'm debating whether it's worth hiring someone to capture the moment or if we should just stick to tripod shots/selfies. For those who’ve done shoots there, did you find it awkward with a pro around, or did it feel more natural? Would love to hear some personal experiences!

Congrats! That sounds like such an amazing plan. Honestly, skip the tripod — the wind in the desert or the crowds at the Marina make it a nightmare to set up yourself, and you'll probably just end up stressed.
When we did our anniversary session, I was worried about it feeling like a staged "photoshoot," but we ended up hanging out with a team called photographer in Dubai, and it was surprisingly chill. It felt more like they were just tagging along while we explored the city. They knew all these quiet spots near the Al Fahidi district that we never would've found on our own. If you want those "authentic" shots without the typical influencer-style posing, I'd say just find a crew that stays low-key. Enjoy the trip!
